History Matters by David McCullough

Loved this book and McCullough’s insights into history and his writing process.

I’m still sad that he has passed on. He had such a talent for taking any subject and make it compelling and page-turning. I mean, was I ever interested in the American artists and medical professionals who lived and worked in Paris in the 1840s? I was, once I read The Greater Journey. John Adams and Harry Truman? Big fans of them now because of how McCullough faithfully portrayed them. I was even held captive reading The Great Bridge. I’ve never been to the Brooklyn Bridge, much less Brooklyn or New York City…but I want to now.
