Who am I?

My name is Steven Dexheimer, and I’m a full-time Youth Services Librarian (and despite what the picture may show, I possess no magical powers). I have a B.A. in History (Hannibal-LaGrange College) and an MLIS (Dominican University).

However, as much as I love reading books and working with kids, my dream career is to become a published writer. On that note, I have established this blog to put some of my creative writing on display, as well as a few of my unprofessional insights into the worlds of writing and libraries. I tend to have varied interests in my writing topics, so hopefully there is something for everybody.

I’m also a member of one of the finest theater groups in Illinois, Overshadowed Theatrical Productions. At various times, I have acted, pretended to be a dancer/singer, worked on stage crew, ushered, helped with concessions, and have even taken a turn as stage manager.
