This audiobook primarily, and briefly, covers the origin stories of the various Avengers (as seen in the Marvel movies). However, if one is expecting the entire retelling of the first Avengers movie here, they might be disappointed. The narrative ends rather abruptly with the initial capture of Loki and an epilogue highlighting the fact that the Avengers had met their first challenge as a team. Stay tuned for further adventures…

However, this doesn’t mean that the audiobook was not an entertaining listen! Narrator Tom Taylorson does an excellent job of portraying the voices of the various superheroes, especially Tony Stark’s rapid-fire, snarky speech and Thor’s slow, broad, accented tones.

Overall, I think this is a good introduction for young, reluctant-reading Marvel fans, or for johnny-come-latelys like me.
