Th1rteen R3asons Why by Jay Asher

ThirteenReasonsWhy

High schooler Clay Jenkins is surprised one day by a mysterious package sitting on his doorstep. It is addressed to him, and inside are seven cassette tapes. Playing the first tape, Clay is horrified to hear the voice of Hannah Baker, a classmate (and secret crush) who recently committed suicide. In the recording, Hannah states that it was the actions (or inactions) of thirteen people that eventually drove her to kill herself. Clay is one of the thirteen.

According to her instructions, each of the thirteen people will receive the package of tapes, listen to them, and then mail them to the next person on the list. With a sickening sense of dread, Clay spends the entire night listening to the tapes, visiting various places in town that Hannah highlights, and wondering just what he did to help push her over the edge.

Th1rteen R3asons Why by Jay Asher, is a heart-wrenching story about the causes and consequences of teen suicide.
